It’s hard to believe another year has gone by, and what a year it’s been. A year ago, Community Brands was formed when we brought together association and nonprofit technology leaders Abila, Aptify, NimbleUser and YourMembership. We later added Configio for registration and event management and then 501 Auctions, Gesture and GiveSmart to power our more than 100,000 association, nonprofit and school events.

And as we’ve been working to lift Community Brands with our customers, partners, employees and market, solidifying our value to purpose-driven organizations and evolving into a point solution to provide leading technology for those organizations, we’ve become all about empowering organizations to deliver social good through positive change driven by this technology.

We’ve also taken on meeting the needs and expectations of a digital generation when it comes to cloud and mobile, interoperability of apps and software, machine learning and artificial intelligence, security and blockchain, as well as the expansion of creative and emotional intelligence. All top-of-mind trends and topics organizations are having to answer for as our members, donors, volunteers—everyone—keep up and even drive transformative tech changing our world to make it a better place to live.

All that said, now it’s time to put the rubber to the road. Time for you to get a focused look at how Community Brands is leveling the playing field between for-profits and purpose-driven organizations, and investing in underserved markets and technologies.

Xperience 2018 is less than a month away, and we’re highly anticipating hosting the best and brightest minds in the association and nonprofit sectors May 6 through 9 at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. We’ve been diligently working to create an unforgettable experience that will have you feeling inspired and empowered to reach your full potential as a leader and team member of your organization.

Xperience18 promises to be an unforgettable experience, because, for the first time ever, our customers, partners, consultants, employees from all our brands, as well as leaders from the association and nonprofit markets, are coming together for four days to exchange ideas and innovation. We’ve designed the event as a unique opportunity for association and nonprofit professionals like yourself to be surrounded with like-minded people who are dealing with similar challenges and using similar tools every day.

We are featuring motivational keynotes from Innovation Provocateur Linda Bernardi and Dr. Derreck Kayongo, the CEO of the Center for Civil and Human Rights. There’s the chance to have one-to-one conversations with product leaders to allow you to influence product roadmap decisions and gain a deeper understanding for what is coming and why, as well as learn from industry experts how to efficiently leverage technology to meet growing expectations of your members, donors and other key stakeholders, while improving engagement and delivering value.

The proliferation of content at Xperience18 is a group effort from all the companies that have come together to form Community Brands. The sessions cover best practices, industry topics and leadership, including product-specific technology training; professional development and career advancement with more than 60 accredited sessions applied towards CPE, CAE or CFRE certification; personalized education paths with content catered to executives, marketing, fundraising, membership, finance and technology professionals; and innovation and collaboration by directly partnering with product leaders to access resources to further advance technologies, organizations and missions. With more than 140 educational sessions, some of our more notable ones include:

  • Technology Disruptors: How Future Technology Will Impact Nonprofits
  • Innovating for Year-Round Member Engagement
  • Managing the Complexities of Nonprofit Growth
  • How to Deliver the In-Person Learning Experience Online
  • The Psychology of Online Fundraising
  • Preparing Your Organization for Changing Privacy Practices
  • Understanding the Millennial Mind
  • Control Freak: Everything You Need to Know about Maintaining Proper Internal Controls
  • The Future Is Now: Understanding AI & How Your Association Can Harness It
  • Change: It’s What’s for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner—Enjoy the Buffet

But not only are we going to educate and prepare you to succeed faster, grow stronger and achieve your dreams as an organization—as well as those of your constituents, we’re also going to celebrate you and your organization.

We will be presenting our first-ever Community Brands Innovations Awards at Xperience18. Whether it’s making health care more accessible through mobile apps or improving ways to raise funds for cancer research, we know you’re working hard every day to accomplish your missions and make lasting changes throughout the world. We also know that more and more, technology is becoming an integral part of this effort. So, we’re recognizing those associations and nonprofits using tech in creative and innovative ways to positively impact social change.

We’re also hosting a Community Brands Night of Heroes at Marvel® Super Hero Island at Universal’s Islands of Adventure™. This night, particularly, is about the people at purpose-driven organizations—the everyday heroes—who make an impact on our world one member, donor and mission at a time.

Finally, I want to thank those who attend the inaugural Community Brands Xperience18. Your valued input, feedback and support keeps us innovating and advancing technology to better empower you and your mission.

We look forward to enjoying the week with association and nonprofit industry leaders and staff, and we are confident your experience will be invaluable as you share new ideas and acquire new tools and skills to help enrich engagement with your members and donors, and grow your organization.

See you in Orlando!
