Today’s Friday Fix – ask yourself are you reaching your audience in the most effective, desirable way?
Is your audience (which encompasses both members and potential members) comprised of readers? Blog away. Do they prefer industry analysis? White papers and articles work. Would your audience rather “listen” than read? Try recording a few podcasts. Maybe your audience contains visual learners. Videos work well for this group.
If you’re not sure what your audience’s preferences are ask them using electronic survey tools or face-to-face conversations. You may discover that their preferences are based on what kind of information you’re providing. But having a good mix of media — written word, MP3s and videos — is a sure way to appeal to a broad group (as well as their followers) and can be done with free or low-cost software.
