Whatever your strength be it location, new office, new technology, state-of-the-art conference facility, fascinating speakers – whatever it is, make sure your members know about it. Tell them, show them, then tell them again. Never assume that just because it was in your most recent newsletter that everyone knows about it. The average tweet has a shelf life of three hours; a good email open rate is 14% and the average Facebook user has 130 friends. You are competing for viewer time not just membership dollars.
Take your top three strengths and make them the focus of your communications and media for the next week (or month depending on your communication schedule). Make sure your members know what’s different about you and you’ll stand out from all the noise.
